Job summary

ITV News Central in Birmingham is seeking an outstanding Content Editor to join its management team. You will steer the news agenda across the East and West Midlands, guiding programme producing, digital curation, and planning while upholding editorial excellence across on-air and online content.

You will bring strong TV and digital skills, be capable of effective line management, and demonstrate superb editorial judgement under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified NCTJ, BJTC, or equivalent experience.
• Three years’ experience in a broadcast newsroom or equivalent.
• Ability to coach, manage and motivate others.
• Strong editorial judgement with knowledge of compliance.
• Proven track record producing, sourcing and planning content.
• Experience delivering digital content across online platforms (ITVX, apps).
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Responsibilities

• Programme producing: oversee high quality programmes, bulletins, or Opt production.
• News editing: lead day-to-day news gathering and coverage of stories.
• Online editing: curate ITV’s online news service, ITVX and news site.
• Planning: lead advance planning for all news output across platforms.
