Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Maidenhead is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist in Learning Disabilities to provide senior psychiatric input within a multidisciplinary team and lead care planning for adults with learning disabilities.

You will work within a Trust rated outstanding by the CQC, with opportunities to contribute to research, QI, and service development, while benefiting from a recruitment premium and relocation support where applicable.

Qualifications

• Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
• Section 12 (Mental Health Act) Approved or eligible.
• Hold Approved Clinician [AC] status or be eligible.
• Experience of working in community-based services for people with learning disabilities.
• Multidisciplinary team working within learning disability services.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric input within a multidisciplinary model as a senior team member.
• Clinical responsibility for patients including assessment and ongoing management.
• Offer specialist psychiatric advice to GPs, carers and establishments.
• Act as Approved Clinician (AC) and Responsible Clinician (RC) under the MHA 1983.
• Maintain accurate clinical notes and communications in line with guidance.
• Provide information and guidance for patients and carers.
• Contribute to in-house training and peer supervision.
• Prepare up-to-date clinical reports for care planning.
