Job summary

WSP invites applications for a Senior Consultant in Future Energy Networks. You will deliver and lead high-quality consulting projects for energy operators and utilities, shaping network planning,, flexibility and energy transformation across the UK.

You will engage clients, translate needs into practical outputs and contribute to the growth of the Energy Advisory practice. You will collaborate with engineers, economists and policy specialists, advancing projects through multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in consulting, electricity networks, utilities or the wider energy sector.
• Experience contributing to the delivery of consulting, advisory, technical or strategic projects, with increasing responsibility.
• Knowledge or experience in network planning, connections, flexibility, network transformation, innovation, resilience or energy-system planning.
• Ability to work effectively in complex or evolving environments, using sound judgement and seeking support where appropriate.
• Experience engaging directly with clients or stakeholders and translating their needs into outputs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivering consulting projects and defined workstreams, with increasing responsibility for planning and coordination.
• Taking ownership of high-quality project outputs, including technical accuracy and timely delivery.
• Applying experience to challenges in network planning, connections, flexibility, and energy transition.
• Developing analytical approaches, work plans and recommendations in response to client requirements.
• Engaging directly with client stakeholders, presenting findings clearly and building trusted relationships.
• Delivering technical, commercial, economic, policy and strategic analysis to support client decisions.
• Contributing to business development activities and proposals.
