Job summary

United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Lincolnshire invites applications for a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in Emergency General Surgery to join Lincoln County Hospital and Grantham Hospital. The post covers elective and emergency care, outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and on-call duties, with leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should hold Full GMC registration and FRCS (General Surgery) or equivalent, with eligibility for the GMC

Qualifications

Full GMC registration and eligible for Specialist Register within six months of CCT.
FRCS (General Surgery) or equivalent.
On GMC Specialist Register for General Surgery within six months of CCT.
Postgraduate higher degree (MD, MSc, PhD or equivalent).

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency and elective general surgery services.
Participate in outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and ward rounds.
Contribute to Surgical Emergency Admission Unit and ambulatory surgery pathways.
Lead in clinical governance, audit, and service improvement initiatives.
Supervise and train junior doctors and medical students.
