Job summary

Sir Robert McAlpine, delivering Therme Manchester, invites expressions of interest for experienced Senior Construction Managers and Chief Engineers to lead safe, high-quality delivery on a landmark project in TraffordCity.

Reporting into the project leadership, you will coordinate engineers, site teams and subcontractors, ensure design coordination, manage risk, and align with programme, quality, safety and commercial objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Construction Manager or Chief Engineer on major projects.
• Strong leadership and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• SMSTS qualification and CSCS card.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership across construction and engineering activities, promoting safety, quality and collaboration.
• Lead and coordinate engineering, site management, works teams and subcontractors to ensure effective project delivery.
• Oversee construction engineering activities, ensuring designs, methodologies and procedures are compliant with regulations and standards.
• Coordinate design, engineering, procurement and construction to align with the project programme.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and opportunities, implement mitigation measures.
• Identify and mitigate technical and construction risks while supporting value and performance improvements.
• Work with project and commercial teams to deliver within programme and budget.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to teams.
• Set objectives aligned with project goals and report progress and risks.
• Maintain auditable records of engineering decisions and changes.
