Job summary

Lunaria Partners | Responsible Business is seeking candidates for a unique role within their new London conflicts team. The successful applicant will contribute their expertise to shape policies and resolve conflicts, particularly as the firm grows its presence in the EMEA market.

The role requires advising on complex client matters and identifying ethical conflicts of interest, supporting implementation of conflicts workflows, and has a requirement for at least 5 years of relevant experience. A deep knowledge of SRA regulations will be essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in conflicts at an international firm.
• Experience with complex conflicts issues such as M&A transactions.
• Familiarity with SRA conflicts rules.

Job description

A super rare opportunity to be one of the first hires as this US law firm sets up its London conflicts team.

The Team

The team is currently solely in the US, but as the firm keeps expanding its London and EMEA offices they have identified the need for a team based in London.

The Role

This is a super exciting opportunity as you can bring your knowledge and experience and help shape the policies and procedures as well as advise on conflicts matters. Currently everything is held to the ABA / US standards, but they are keen to have someone who can provide more advice and see if using the SRA standards means more work is cleared.

On a daily basis the role includes:

• Advising on both new client and new matters
• Analysing complex relationships and identify legal, commercial or ethical conflicts of interest
• Advising fee earners on conflict issues, information barriers, confidentiality obligations and client acceptance
• Supporting the design and implementation of conflicts policies, workflows, systems and reporting mechanisms

About You

It is anticipated you will have at least 5 years experience in conflicts at an international firm. Ideally you will have experience with complex conflicts issues such as with M&A transactions.

You must have experience with SRA code of conduct / SRA conflicts rules and any exposure to US/ABA would be an advantage.
