Job summary

Starling is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract in Cardiff to guide our 2LoD. You will deliver expert regulatory compliance advice, oversee conduct risk, and support governance across the bank’s products and services.

You will build strong relationships with 1LoD, implement compliance frameworks, and help ensure good customer outcomes while navigating UK financial regulations. The role demands collaboration, clear communication, and proactive issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of UK financial regulation and conduct risk.
• Experience providing regulatory compliance advice to business teams.
• Ability to challenge and support 1LoD and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across senior management and committees.
• Experience coordinating regulatory submissions and governance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory compliance and conduct advice to 1LoD and business teams.
• Contribute to development and implementation of conduct risk and compliance frameworks.
• Oversee SMF applications and maintain the Management Responsibilities Map.
• Review and approve financial promotions across products and services.
• Support monthly compliance reporting and risk monitoring.
