Job summary

Warwick District Council is seeking a dynamic Community Warden to provide a visible presence and public protection in the district. You will engage with residents in public spaces, handle queries and referrals, and support partners to reduce crime and safeguard vulnerable people.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant industry.
• First Aid qualification (or willingness to achieve this).
• Ability to adapt to new areas of work and rapidly gain knowledge and understanding of new subject areas or systems.
• The ability to use relevant technology and IT systems, including Microsoft Office and web/database applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a highly visible uniformed presence engaging with the public in towns, parks and open spaces.
• Deliver excellent customer service handling queries face to face, by phone, email and social media.
• Offer advice and support to local residents and refer to relevant agencies.
• Support and engage with community safety partners and WDC services to reduce crime and protect vulnerable people.
• Assist in animal warden duties including stray dog collection and support partner agencies in night-time economy management.
