NHS Fife is seeking a Senior Community Mental Health Nurse for the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Central Fife. The role involves managing a caseload, conducting assessments, and developing individualized care plans for older adults. Candidates must be registered nurses with experience in mental health, possess strong leadership and communication skills, and be adaptable to changing situations. The service has an exciting opportunity within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Central Fife for a Senior Community Mental Health Nurse. We welcome applications from highly motivated individuals experienced in working with older adults with functional and organic conditions. The role is based at Whytemans Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
Applicants must be registered nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have knowledge and experience related to the health and wellbeing of older adults with mental illness. You should be able to engage with patients to support their recovery and personal outcomes.
We seek a confident individual skilled in managing challenging situations independently, including home visits across Central Fife. The candidate will hold their own caseload, conduct mental health assessments, and develop and evaluate person-centered, individualized care plans.
The role involves supervising and developing junior staff, supporting the Nurse Team Lead with managerial tasks, and providing supervision for Student Nurses. You should possess excellent team working, leadership, communication skills, and be adaptable to change, with a commitment to personal development.
You will need to use IT systems such as Microsoft Office and Morse. Successful applicants will receive a full induction and opportunities for clinical and line management supervision.
It is essential that the candidate can travel across a large geographical area in a timely manner.
The working pattern is within office hours, Monday to Friday, 0900-1700, with potential weekend work in the future.
