Job summary

Bauer Media Group is seeking a Communications professional for its UK Publishing arm to turn company happenings into press coverage, internal updates and stakeholder stories. The role blends internal and external work and offers hybrid working from London or Peterborough with 2 days in the office.

You’ll draft releases, engage trade press, deliver internal comms, support leadership events and partner with senior leaders to shape messaging across channels.

The Difference you will make

You’ll be the person turning what's happening across Bauer Media UK Publishing into stories worth telling, to the people who work here and the industry watching from outside. One day that might mean drafting a press release on a special edition; the next, drafting the content for a leadership townhall, or shaping how a piece of change gets communicated to colleagues.

We’ve created this role from scratch. That means you're not stepping into someone else's shoes or a well-worn process — you're helping build one, with influence over how we work and communicate.

Your role

This role is about turning what's happening at Bauer Media UK Publishing into press coverage, content and communications that land well, across internal and external channels.

Responsibilities include:

• Split your time between internal and external, flexing with what the business needs.
• Engage with the trade press, drafting releases and content — social, video, photography — that turn business news into coverage that strengthens how Bauer Media UK Publishing is seen in the industry.
• Deliver internal communications that celebrate our brands, help colleagues understand change and feel part of the culture we're building.
• Support in-person events — townhalls, leadership engagements, all-hands — handling logistics and content.
• Support senior leaders across the business with their communications needs — from drafting materials to helping them prepare for key moments.

The Skills you will bring:

• Some experience across internal and/or external communications — you don't need to be equally strong in both.
• A curiosity for stories — you notice when something happening in the business is actually worth telling.
• Confident writing across formats, from a leadership message to a social caption, plus a willingness to get hands-on with content like short-form video and event materials.
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
• A calm head under pressure, and able to work in a fast-moving environment.

Working Pattern/Location

This is a hybrid role, based at either our London or Peterborough office, with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office — exact anchor days to be confirmed depending on location.
