This role is a hybrid position based in Bristol and would be based 2-3 days a week on client site.
- Be a Communications Engineer (or similarly related profession), degree qualified in Electronic / Communications / Computer Science Engineering discipline or similar, with chartership and 5 or more years’ experience. Where chartership is not provided, a minimum of 9 years’ experience is required;
- Recent experience (last 5 years) of working on “Communications Integration” and “Feasibility” studies, covering cost analysis;
- Recent experience (last 5 years) of the design and acquisition of C4I Information Systems and systems engineering, relating to warships;
- Recent experience (last 5 years) of working with stakeholders to examine their needs and generating high-level costings and feasibility studies based on customer needs;
- Proven experience of managing stakeholders across Naval Combat System design and engineering teams, including experience operating autonomously, covering design activity during ship acquisition and in-service support;
- Ability, experience and proof of producing high quality, well-structured and logically written reports within tight timescales that clearly communicate an understanding of the task, the work carried out, conclusions and recommendations made to the sponsor;
- Where chartership is not achieved, evidence of ongoing CPD is required to be provided;
- Knowledge of the workings and organisations of the UK maritime commercial and defence industries and markets;
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi company environment in a large project (preferably ship based);
