NFU Mutual's Large Corporate Insurance Department manages our largest and most complex corporate risks, with premiums over £100k. They oversee £200 million in GWPI, underwriting Property and Liability risks to drive sustainable, long-term profitable growth. We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity as an Underwriter.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of existing clients and quotations, serving as the lead underwriter. You will review and evaluate insurance risks, propose and negotiate policy terms for corporate business in line with NFU Mutual's underwriting principles and standards.
Your work will ensure fair outcomes and exceptional customer service, aligned with the company's risk appetite and financial goals. You will build and maintain strong relationships with team members, agents, brokers, and clients. You will also train, coach, mentor, and guide team members, provide technical support, and support departmental improvements and projects. Additionally, you will handle policy cancellations, resolve complaints, and support agents and brokers during client meetings.
You will be a Commercial Underwriting professional with extensive experience in Commercial Property or Liability risks within the UK general insurance market, from an insurer or broker environment. You should be resilient, a confident communicator, and capable of establishing strong relationships with stakeholders. You should also have experience in coaching, mentoring, and influencing risk decisions, and be able to make rational decisions in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative and forward-thinking approach is essential.
Having a CII qualification or working towards it is desirable but not essential. We support your professional development.
