NFU Mutual's Large Corporate Insurance Department manages our largest and most complex corporate risks, with premiums over £100k. They oversee £200 million in GWPI, underwriting Property, Liability, and Motor Fleet risks to drive sustainable, long-term profitable growth. We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity as an Underwriter.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of existing clients and quotations, serving as the lead underwriter. You will review and evaluate insurance risks, proposing and negotiating policy terms for corporate business in line with NFU Mutual's underwriting principles and standards.
Your work will ensure fair outcomes and exceptional customer service, aligned with the company's risk appetite and financial goals. You will build and maintain strong relationships with team members, agents, brokers, and clients. You will also train, coach, mentor, and guide team members, provide technical support, support change initiatives, and handle policy cancellations, complaints, and client meetings to enhance customer value and uphold the company's reputation.
You should be a Commercial Underwriting professional with extensive experience in Commercial Property or Liability risks within the UK general insurance market, from an insurer or broker environment. Key qualities include resilience, effective communication, ability to challenge and influence, and a collaborative approach. Experience in coaching, mentoring, and leading risk decisions is essential. A strategic and forward-thinking mindset is desirable. A CII qualification or working towards one is preferred but not essential, as support is available.
