Job description

DP World has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager - Transport to join our team in the UK. The Senior Commercial Manager will drive business growth through road transport services in the UK, exceeding sales targets, ensuring customer satisfaction, and complying with UK road regulations. The role focuses on developing the road transport service offering to customers, aligning with the overall strategy, and defining value propositions. Additionally, the role involves consolidating existing transport operations into a cohesive sales value proposition.

How will you contribute:

  • Own the product development and growth strategy of the Domestic Transport service offering, providing the “to customer door” element of our company strategy.
  • Develop team capabilities and structure to ensure scalability and compliance.
  • Work with existing DP World Transport operations, identifying synergies and best practices.
  • Establish productive relationships with key personnel within customer organizations, positioning DP World as a credible transport provider in the UK market.
  • Manage internal stakeholders to communicate strategy and gain buy-in for opportunities.
  • Understand the customer's buying process and requirements.
  • Coordinate growth initiatives specific to customer transport needs, identifying opportunities for profitable sales and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure solution development, pricing, and negotiation efforts address customer needs, involving all key internal stakeholders.
  • Handle RFQs for new business opportunities and renewals, managing the commercial relationship and contract negotiations.
  • Track account metrics, alert stakeholders to performance issues, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of opportunities, quantifying potential value and probability of winning.
  • Assist with high-severity requests or escalations as needed.
  • Coordinate company personnel involvement to meet account and customer expectations.
  • Plan and facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews with accounts.

What will you bring:

  • Degree or equivalent in business administration or transport.
  • CPC certification.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales quotas in transport-related business.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the transport industry, operating or selling transport services.
  • Significant sales experience.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
