Job summary

HS2 Ltd is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead commercial activities within Delivery teams and provide independent assurance to the Head of Commercial. You will oversee contract management, risk assessment, and commercial governance across major infrastructure contracts, working with the supply chain and internal teams.

The role requires experience in developing commercial strategies, evaluating tenders, and managing high value contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial management teams on major infrastructure projects.
• Ability to develop commercial strategies and plans for large programmes.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with supply chain and internal stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms.
• Experience with cost verification, payments and change control.
• Understanding of NEC3/contract management and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial works information and contract documents.
• Support tender evaluation models and procurement documentation.
• Evaluate tenders and assist in contract readiness and award.
• Deliver commercial assurances and monthly performance reports.
• Lead and develop commercial teams, setting objectives and development plans.
• Provide guidance on contract management, variations and compensation events.
• Engage with contractors to drive value and maintain relationships.
