Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is recruiting a Commercial Manager for a major highways infrastructure project in the North West. The role focuses on leading commercial activities, managing costs and ensuring contract compliance on a flagship scheme.

You will work closely with the project team to drive commercial performance, oversee procurement and optimise profitability, with responsibilities spanning forecasting, reporting and change management.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or highways.
• Strong NEC contract knowledge.
• Experience managing project costs and subcontractors.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially driven approach to project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of project activities to meet financial targets and obligations.
• Manage cost control, forecasting, CVRs and commercial reporting.
• Oversee subcontract procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Administer NEC contracts and manage change and compensation events.
• Identify opportunities to maximise value and protect profitability.
• Collaborate with operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure robust commercial governance and reporting throughout the lifecycle.
