About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our Highways Business unit in Grays to support the Lower Thames Crossing Project.

Role Purpose:

The Senior Commercial Manager reports to and deputises for the Project Commercial Director on the Lower Thames Crossing Roads North project, valued at over £1.2Bn. They are responsible for the financial management of this major, complex project through development and construction phases. They play a key role in the project management team, focusing on the commercial and financial success of the project, developing and implementing the commercial strategy. The role covers risk management, procurement, financial reporting, and supply chain management. Candidates should have proven skills in commercial awareness, strategic thinking, client liaison, project management, and team leadership. An extensive understanding of the construction industry, flexibility, and negotiation skills are essential. Ideally, candidates will have managed and developed a commercial team, be Chartered Members or Fellows of RICS, ICES, or CIOB, and serve as mentors or role models for other commercial staff.
