Job summary

DCS Engineering Bournemouth is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to oversee commercial performance across multiple complex contracts within the defence and aviation sectors.

You will lead the contract lifecycle from preparation and negotiation through to in-life management, changes and claims, ensuring contractual obligations are met and risks are managed while maximising commercial value. ITAR/export controls experience is advantageous, and security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in commercial management, contract management or complex contracting roles.
• Experience managing complex contracts through their lifecycle including negotiation and change.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of key contracts throughout the full contract lifecycle.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage complex contractual terms and conditions with customers, suppliers and government entities.
• Oversee contractual changes, variations, claims, disputes and commercial negotiations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate contractual, financial and commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
• Evaluate pricing, cash flow, margin, cost drivers and overall contract profitability.
• Monitor contract performance against KPIs, milestones and commercial objectives.
• Provide commercial guidance to senior leadership and project teams.
• Maintain strong commercial governance and compliance with policies and approvals.
• Build relationships with customers, the UK MOD and international defence customers.
• Drive continuous improvement in contract management processes and controls.
