Job summary

SGN is seeking a Lead Commercial Manager in Farringdon, a full-time hybrid position. You will oversee commercial management of long-term contracts, lead a team, and drive value via process improvements and value engineering.

The role interfaces with Legal, Operations and Finance, and requires travel across the Southern network. The successful candidate will bring background in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Commercial Management or Law, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality procurement

Qualifications

• Background in quantity surveying, procurement, commercial management or law.
• Degree level education is desirable but not mandatory.
• Innovative commercial thinking for a regulated environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial management of long-term and strategic contracts.
• Lead and grow a team of procurement and commercial professionals.
• Enhance commercial processes for robust management.
• Introduce value engineering to drive value and efficiency.
• Develop and lead teams to deliver contract strategies.
• Manage contract administration across NEC3/4 and bespoke agreements.
• Develop tender documents to support project delivery.
• Liaise with senior stakeholders across Legal, Operations and Finance.
