Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support energy projects in North London. The role emphasizes strong commercial leadership, NEC contract proficiency, and robust financial management across EPC-like delivery within a major energy context.

You will work within a longstanding in-house team delivering civil engineering and energy transmission projects across several markets, ensuring value, governance, and compliant financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a times served Surveyor stepping up.
• Solid knowledge across NEC Contracts and major Civil Engineering projects.
• Registered with RICS or ICES and working towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site team adheres to group procedures and governance.
• Prepare valuations and payments with full supporting documentation.
• Manage cost reports to the client with contractually compliant documentation.
• Oversee subcontract and material procurement schedules and payments.
• Administer subcontractor accounts, from requisitions to final accounts.
• Handle contract administration, including change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering.
• Apply cost coding to satisfy internal and external requirements.
• Measure quantities per standard methods as required.
