Job summary

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is seeking a senior commercial lead to steer a major capital delivery programme with a hybrid working approach. You will lead and develop a growing commercial team, setting priorities, ensuring high-quality delivery and shaping best practice across the centre of governance and decision making.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial and contract management experience in a complex, customer-focused environment.
• Strong track record in contract procurement, development, implementation, variation negotiation and ongoing management.
• Strategic budget management and financial control experience across major capital projects or programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a commercial team, setting priorities and allocating resources.
• Act as senior interface with project leadership and external counterparties.
• Lead cost estimates, advise on affordability and funding needs.
• Shape procurement strategies and tender documentation; lead evaluations and negotiations.
• Develop contract management systems and manage supplier relationships.
• Oversee capital budgets, forecasts and cash-flow alignment.
• Lead early intervention, claims strategy and disputes while protecting relationships.
• Provide assurance on risk, change control and value for money through governance.
• Drive continuous improvement and embed best practice across Projects Group.
