Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to support major infrastructure and power projects in the UK. The role sits on Doncaster projects with flexibility to work from the Birmingham office for certain elements, contributing to the Great Grid Partnership and long-term programmes beyond 2030.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related commercial discipline (RICS desirable).
• Experience managing subcontract packages under NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial awareness to identify contractual risks and opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and quantity surveying activities across allocated work packages or project areas.
• Lead commercial administration and management of subcontract packages under NEC contracts.
• Manage valuations, interim applications, payment certifications and subcontract agreements.
• Oversee subcontract performance, change control, payments and contractual obligations.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and commercial performance updates.
• Manage and negotiate claims, variations and final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies.
• Advise project teams on contractual matters and commercial strategy.
