Job summary

Ridge and Partners LLP in Winchester is seeking an experienced MRICS cost manager to lead multiple projects and grow client relationships. You will mentor junior QS teams, advise on NEC and JCT contracts, and coordinate cost management across offices to deliver on budget and timescales.

In this role you will drive business development, present at client meetings, and help shape project strategies from inception to completion.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multiple projects and managing client relationships, including business development.
• Excellent communication and commercial awareness.
• Relevant project experience with NEC and JCT forms; security clearance helpful.
• RICS-accredited degree or equivalent.
• MRICS Chartered status.
• Background in commercially focused roles; enthusiastic and ambitious.
• Proficient with MS Office (especially Excel) and industry-standard software.
• CostX experience preferred.
• Track record of developing and mentoring people.

Responsibilities

• Mentor QS cost management colleagues to develop their skills.
• Collaborate with Winchester and Ridge leadership teams.
• Manage clients and pursue new business opportunities.
• Participate in business development forums and sector groups.
• Coordinate cost management across all offices.
• Work independently on assigned tasks.
• Advise on contracts and construction conditions, NEC and JCT forms.
• Guide design teams on cost-effective methods and materials to stay within budget.
• Prepare tender documents.
• Oversee project costs during construction and negotiate final accounts.
• Lead client meetings and ensure successful project delivery.
• Expand business through new and repeat projects.
• Manage projects from inception to completion and use.
