Job summary

Bec Recruitment is looking for a Commercial Lead to manage commercial activities across the full contract lifecycle. You will support bids, estimates and negotiations, then help deliver projects with strong governance, risk management and cash-focused strategies.

The role requires collaboration with Sales, Estimating, Projects, Planning, Finance and Operations, ensuring terms, margins and cash flows align with business objectives. Office-based with site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Substantial commercial management or senior quantity surveying experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction or project delivery.
• Experience reviewing, interpreting, negotiating and administering customer contracts across pre-contract and delivery stages.
• Strong understanding of contractual risk, liability, payment mechanisms, change control and final accounts.
• Experience providing commercial input to estimates, pricing, bids or tender submissions.
• Experience managing live contracts including payments, variations and cash forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial leadership across the full contract lifecycle from bids to close-out.
• Review terms, identify risks and opportunities, and document residual risks and departures.
• Lead or support customer negotiations to secure favourable commercial positions and approvals.
• Develop pricing strategies and tender qualifications with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate tender and contract approvals with governance papers detailing value, margin and cash.
• Ensure delegated authority and governance are applied to all tenders and contracts.
