Job summary

Kraken seeks an Assistant General Counsel - Commercial (Partnerships) to lead product partnership negotiations and craft high-stakes commercial agreements. You will shield the business from risk while enabling rapid innovation across product, sales, finance, engineering and regulatory teams.

The role requires deep experience handling complex transactions in technology, SaaS, or strategic partnerships, with a remote-first work environment and global scope.

Qualifications

• J.D. or equivalent legal degree with active license in at least one jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of commercial legal experience, in-house and/or top-tier law firms.
• Proven track record leading complex commercial transactions globally.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Kraken's product partnership commercial legal efforts across departments.
• Advise leadership on technology agreements, strategic partnerships, and terms of service.
• Develop templates, playbooks, and risk management frameworks for scalable operations.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Tax, and Regulatory teams to mitigate risk.
• Support contract lifecycle management and CLM tooling improvements.
