Job summary

Pret A Manger is seeking a Senior Technical Manager for Coffee & Drinks in London. You will lead technical standards across UK shops, ensuring safety, legality and Pret standards for ingredients and finished beverages.

You’ll collaborate with buying, food, and supply chain teams, manage supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement in food safety and product quality. This role is hybrid with international travel.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in food technical roles, preferably in retail or food service.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP practices.
• Degree-level qualification in food science or food technology.
• Experience with supplier quality and NPD/due diligence processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve systems and standards for food safety and due diligence.
• Advise shops and food leadership on quality issues and supplier performance.
• Lead technical management of coffee and drinks, ingredients and suppliers.
• Ensure accurate specifications in Pret’s spec system and manage HACCP risk assessments.
• Collaborate across Buying, Food, Supply Chain and Operations to drive improvements.
