Job summary

Scantec Recruitment is seeking a Senior Civil & Coastal Engineer to deliver coastal and marine engineering assessments and design support for a major nuclear infrastructure project in Warrington. The role is site-based and requires ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree and coastal/marine project experience, with awareness of climate resilience and design substantiation processes within a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in coastal or marine engineering projects.
• Experience assessing environmental and operational loadings (wave action, flooding, scour, erosion).
• Understanding of climate change impacts and resilience in infrastructure.
• Familiarity with design substantiation, technical reporting and engineering assurance processes.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage technical interfaces.
• Experience using coastal, hydraulic or numerical modelling software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver coastal and marine engineering assessments and design support for the programme.
• Produce and review engineering calculations, numerical models, technical reports and design documentation.
• Support design substantiation and technical justifications to meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
• Assess coastal processes, wave loading, scour, flooding, erosion and climate change impacts.
• Participate in design reviews and technical assurance activities.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, quality requirements and CDM 2015.
• Manage technical interfaces across the wider programme.
