Job summary

JOTA is seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Setter/Operator with Fixed-Head turning experience to join our manufacturing team in the United Kingdom. You will read engineering drawings, select tooling, load CNC programs, set offsets, and optimise performance to meet exacting specifications.

You will conduct in-process and final inspections, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement while mentoring apprentices and collaborating with Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior CNC Setter/Operator with CNC turning experience.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling and workholding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating Fixed-Head CNC lathes from engineering drawings & job pack documentation.
• Selecting tooling, fixtures and workholding to achieve high accuracy and efficiency.
• Loading and proving out CNC programs, setting tool offsets and optimising machine performance.
• Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections to ensure components meet specification and GD&T requirements.
• Troubleshooting machining issues and adjusting to maintain quality and maximise productivity.
• Producing or modifying workholding where required.
• Performing routine machine maintenance and supporting TPM and 6S activities.
• Working closely with Programming, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams to continuously improve processes.
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and less experienced colleagues where appropriate

What you'll be doing
