Job summary

Halifax is seeking a Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter Operator to join the production team in a full-time permanent role. The ideal candidate will program, set and operate CNC mill/turn machines, producing components from customer drawings for small batches and one-offs.

You will work with Fanuc, Mazak or Siemens controls, maintain high workshop standards and comply with HSQE procedures. Apprenticeship-trained machinists with strong CNC turning and live tooling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained machinists with CNC turning experience.
• Experience using Fanuc, Mazak or Siemens controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain quality.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC mill/turn machines from drawings.
• Produce small batch and one-off components to tight tolerances.
• Maintain workshop housekeeping and comply with HSQE procedures.
• Attend training courses as required.
