Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd is recruiting an experienced CNC Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer for a permanent role with an established engineering company in Ashton-under-Lyne. You will set, operate and program CNC horizontal borers to produce precision parts from drawings.

The role requires reading and interpreting drawings, self-inspection of parts, and willingness to work overtime. A strong background with Heidenhain controls and medium-to-heavy components is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and programming CNC horizontal borers.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience machining medium to heavy components.
• Self-inspection and quality checks on finished parts.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Setting, operating and programming CNC Horizontal Boring/Milling machines.
• Working from detailed engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Producing medium to heavy workpieces to a high standard.
• Carrying out self-inspection and ensuring components meet quality requirements.
• Working safely and efficiently within a busy engineering environment.
