The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision components from customer drawings, with a focus on tight tolerances and quality. Collaboration with engineering and production teams is essential.

Qualifications

• CNC Programmer Setter experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with CAM programming is essential.
• Familiarity with Hurco or similar machinery is advantageous.
• Knowledge of tooling and machining processes.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work well with engineering and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Creating, developing and proving CNC programs for production.
• Setting and operating CNC machining centres for production runs.
• Carrying out both manned and unmanned machining operations.
• Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Maintaining tight tolerances and high standards of quality.
• Inspecting components and ensuring they meet required specifications.
• Carrying out routine machine maintenance checks and completing relevant records.
• Identifying tooling requirements and recommending tooling improvements.
• Contributing to process improvements and improving machining efficiency.
• Working closely with engineering, design and production teams.
• Providing technical input into SOPs and manufacturing processes.
• Proactively identifying and resolving machining and production issues.
