Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd, Ashton-under-Lyne, seeks an experienced CNC Vertical Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer to join a well-established engineering company. The role covers setting, operating and programming using Fanuc controls on vertical boring/lathe machines to produce medium to heavy components.

The ideal candidate will read engineering drawings, inspect own work and commit to overtime when required, in a permanent position within a precision machining environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating CNC Vertical Borers / Vertical Lathes
• Strong experience setting and programming CNC machines
• Knowledge of Fanuc control systems essential
• Experience with Cimco CAD/CAM or Fusion software advantageous
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience machining medium to heavy components
• Confident carrying out own inspection and quality checks
• Willingness to work overtime when required

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Vertical Borer Setter / Operator / Programmer to join a well-established engineering company based in Ashton-under-Lyne.

This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience working on CNC Vertical Boring / Vertical Lathe machines, producing medium to heavy-sized components within a precision engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting, operating and programming CNC Vertical Boring / Vertical Lathe machines


• Programming using Fanuc controls


• Using Cimco CAD/CAM or Fusion software for programming (where applicable)


• Working from customer drawings, specifications and engineering documentation


• Machining medium to heavy workpieces to required standards
