Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an experienced Lead Architect to drive solution design across strategic initiatives in the UK. You will collaborate with business analysts, project teams and enterprise architects to define requirements and deliver architecture roadmaps that align with our standards and technology strategy.

The role emphasises governance, cross-domain collaboration, and mentorship, with flexible/remote working options and a strong focus on continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and delivering technical solutions across database, backend, integration and UX layers.
• Strong influencing skills and experience engaging with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Ability to produce concise solution designs aligned with governance processes and strategy.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure platform services, including cloud-native solutions and hybrid-cloud migrations.
• Knowledge of architectural modelling tools and frameworks such as Sparx EA and TOGAF.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead architect or work with other solution architects on strategic projects.
• Translate business requirements into non-functional and architectural requirements.
• Design technology solutions aligned with standards and strategy across architecture domains.
• Present designs to governance forums and develop architecture roadmaps with enterprise architects.
• Coordinate implementation with delivery teams to ensure alignment with high-level designs.
• Provide guidance through teamwork and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to standards and reusable patterns and engage stakeholders.
