Job summary

Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the SciComp team, building the cloud and compute foundation that accelerates scientific breakthroughs.

You will architect, deploy, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure with CI/CD/GitOps, implement Policy-as-Code with Kyverno, and collaborate with Research and Data teams to enable self-service workloads. The role is hybrid;Oxford/London offices with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience platform engineering and automating operational processes.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider (OCI, AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Proficiency with Terraform for declarative, large-scale infrastructure provisioning.
• Experience managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java with scripting.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and operate cloud platform and scalable compute, network, storage.
• Implement CI/CD/GitOps pipelines to enforce automated infrastructure changes.
• Design and deploy Policy-as-Code governance using Kyverno.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and telemetry with defined SLOs.
• Partner with Research and Data teams to enable self-service workloads.
