Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our SciComp team. You will build robust, scalable software systems powering EIT’s scientific initiatives and ensure the stack is reliable, modular, and engineered to the highest standards.

You will design services and data pipelines, integrate ML inference, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary experts to deliver high-quality software in a hybrid work setting across Oxford and London locations.

Qualifications

• Master's level in Computer Science or related technical discipline with strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Proven success in building and deploying scalable distributed systems in production.
• Experience designing scalable data infrastructure and APIs (REST/gRPC).
• Track record of CI/CD implementation and reproducible workflows.
• Excellent communication of design choices to multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Design and build robust services powering scientific applications and products.
• Bridge diverse components, integrating ML inference servers, hardware interfaces, and data pipelines.
• Own the full production path—from architectural design and coding to testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, AI Scientists and Domain Experts.
• Champion software engineering best practices across EIT for code quality, security and transparency.
