Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build, upgrade, and operate Cloud Foundry foundations at scale while automating operations through modern engineering practices.

You will own initiatives from planning through delivery, partnering with teammates to execute safely in complex production environments, and reduce technical debt across platform tooling. Qualifications

• Hands-on Cloud Foundry installation, upgrade, and troubleshooting at scale.
• Proficiency with BOSH releases, manifests, and ops files.
• Proficiency with Concourse pipelines and operations.
• Kubernetes knowledge including workloads/clusters.
• Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Strong Go or Python or shell scripting skills.
• Linux troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience delivering design, automation, testing, and stability for production platforms.
• Ability to own design problems end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated mentoring of engineers and knowledge sharing.
• Clear written and verbal communication of tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate Cloud Foundry foundations at scale across multiple data centers.
• Define plan and enable team delivery for large initiatives end-to-end.
• Modernize infrastructure as code and reduce pipeline debt.
• Coordinate with infrastructure providers on platform-impacting changes.
• Plan teardowns, rebuilds, and high-risk changes with minimal disruption.
• Expand Kubernetes ownership over time and translate CF practices to Kubernetes.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing and reviews.
• Contribute to retrospectives and design discussions.
• Write secure, production-grade code and perform thoughtful reviews.
• Uphold security, risk, and controls standards.
