Job summary

JPMorganChase in London is seeking a Software Engineer III to help shape the cloud-native platform that powers product teams. You will design, build, and operate infrastructure that enables rapid, secure delivery across the accelerator team, collaborating with senior engineers in a fast-paced environment.

You will work on Kubernetes-based services, CI/CD workflows, and tooling, applying secure coding practices and exploring enterprise AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience.
• Hands-on experience with software development, testing, and troubleshooting in a professional or project-based environment.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, or Kotlin.
• Working understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and secure development practices.
• Foundational understanding of cloud and container technologies, including core Kubernetes concepts.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow within cloud-native platform engineering on a major cloud provider (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to critically evaluate AI outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of outputs.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and participate in code reviews, with guidance from senior engineers.
• Contribute to the design and development of composable infrastructure systems and capabilities that support developer productivity.
• Build, operate, and maintain Kubernetes-based platform services, developer self-service tooling, and CI/CD workflows.
• Identify and automate remediation of recurring operational issues to improve platform stability and reliability.
• Provide operational support for production systems in a 'you-build-it-you-run-it' culture, including incident response.
• Apply platform security and controls practices through infrastructure as code and policy-as-code, and hardening standards.
• Continuously expand knowledge of cloud-native technologies and emerging platform engineering practices.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality and productivity, with peer review and secure coding standards.
