Job summary

JPMorganChase, within the Commercial & Investment Bank, Payments technology team, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive backend services in a secure, scalable environment. You will own architecture, mentor engineers, and guide multi-region designs to ensure high availability and resilience.

You will champion cloud-native solutions with MongoDB, Kubernetes, and REST/gRPC APIs, promoting reusable components and AI-assisted development practices across the team.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for mission-critical applications
• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers
• Drive backend design with Java and cloud-native technologies
• Promote multi-region, highly available architectures
• Drive adoption of MongoDB, Kubernetes and other modern platforms
• Set and enforce API design standards (REST/gRPC)
• Guide service discovery and orchestration in microservices
• Promote reusable components and frameworks to accelerate development
• Manage project delivery with timelines and quality
• Adopt AI-assisted engineering practices with validated outputs
