Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH in London seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer, ML Platforms to design, build and maintain AWS-based infrastructure that enables machine learning workflows for researchers and ML teams.

You will collaborate with researchers, ML engineers and platform teams, implement IaC, ensure security and governance, and support MLOps pipelines from experimentation to deployment in a hybrid office setting (3 days in the office).

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, implementing and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (SageMaker, IAM, networking, storage, compute, containers).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.
• Understanding of cloud security, governance, access management principles.
• Experience supporting ML, data science or MLOps platforms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools for ML delivery.
• Experience with Databricks, MLflow, Jenkins, Bitbucket, OpenShift or comparable platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and improve platform reliability.
• Excellent communication with cross-functional and international teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve AWS-based infrastructure supporting ML workloads.
• Manage cloud environments through Infrastructure as Code with security and governance.
• Monitor platform performance, security findings and resource utilization.
• Plan and manage cloud capacity (CPU, GPU, storage, networking).
• Build and support MLOps pipelines, experiment tracking and model deployment.
• Develop automation to simplify onboarding for researchers and ML teams.
• Enable integrations between AWS services and Databricks, MLflow, Jenkins, Bitbucket or OpenShift.
• Act as technical contact translating research requirements into cloud solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and onboarding activities.
