Job summary

Winchester City Council and Test Valley Borough Council are seeking a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer to shape and secure our cloud and hybrid platforms. You will lead on Microsoft 365, Azure, cyber security and infrastructure improvements that benefit staff and residents.

The role is a fixed-term contract up to 31 March 2028, full-time 37 hours per week, based at Winchester/Andover with homeworking available where suitable. A driving licence is essential for site visits.

Qualifications

• Designing, maintaining and administering hybrid cloud infrastructure environments (on-premises and cloud/Azure).
• Microsoft 365 platform management including identity governance and security features.
• Cyber security and compliance within Microsoft 365, including Purview, DLP and eDiscovery.
• PowerShell or scripting to automate admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead project work, migrations, configuration and improvement of Microsoft 365, Azure and cloud services.
• Provide third‑line support for cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
• Implement robust cyber security measures to protect systems and data.
• Guide colleagues with expert troubleshooting and architectural decisions.
