Job summary

LocalStack is hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and operate scalable cloud solutions for customers. You will optimize cost, performance, and reliability, deploying workloads with Kubernetes, Fargate, or other container tech, and automating infrastructure with Terraform and CloudFormation.

We expect 6+ years in Cloud/SRE/DevOps roles, strong AWS expertise (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda), Linux proficiency, and hands-on CI/CD experience.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, VPC).
• Linux proficiency and CI/CD tooling expertise.

What you will be working on/responsible for

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions for customers.
• Optimize for cost efficiency and performance
• Deploy and manage workloads using the best fit containerization technology for the job (e.g. k8s, MicroVMs)
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation (develop Chef cookbooks, automation scripts and tools)

Experience we expect you to bring to the role

• 6+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer/ SRE/ DevOps/ DevSecOps/Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
• 5+ years of expertise in using AWS, such as EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, VPC, CloudFormation, and CloudFront.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI)
• 3+ years of experience in AWS containerized services, such as ECS, EKS, Fargate and containerized tools such as Docker, Helm, ArgoCD.
• Highly proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation.
• Strong background in software development, with proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Ruby.
• Experience across Azure, Snowflake, GCP and other major cloud providers (beneficial)
