Job summary

Frontify is seeking an experienced DevOps/Platform or Systems Engineer to maintain and enhance our infrastructure. You will work with R&D to identify root causes, document processes, and be the first point of contact for Europe- and US-based teams on platform topics. This role supports remote work from Switzerland or on-site in St.

Gallen. Bring 5+ years in SaaS DevOps, strong Linux and Nginx skills, Docker with Kubernetes or AWS ECS, and hands-on AWS experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a DevOps/Platform or Systems Engineer role, ideally in SaaS.
• Strong experience with Nginx, MySQL (replication, performance tuning), and Linux.
• Docker containerization with orchestration (Kubernetes or AWS ECS).
• AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront/OpenSearch) experience.
• Terraform for infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines knowledge.
• Security best practices in cloud/DevOps, IAM, data protection and compliance basics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor a robust observability framework for performance and reliability.
• Design, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure using DevOps practices.
• Own incident management: on-call, postmortems, SLOs, and budgets.
• Manage web servers, relational databases, and Linux-based systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA and Security to streamline deployments.
• Implement security controls and foster a DevSecOps culture.

What you'll shape

You'll ensure that Frontify's system infrastructure is cared for, maintained, and improved – it's a fast-changing infrastructure, so there's always something going on. Working closely with the R&D team, you'll investigate and identify the root cause of infrastructure issues, enabling the team to resolve them, as well as document relevant processes. Beyond managing the daily infrastructure needs, you'll be the first point of contact for our Europe- and US-based teams on anything related to the technical aspects of our platform.

What you'll do

• Help develop and maintain a robust monitoring and observability framework to ensure system performance, reliability, and early issue detection.
• Leverage your experience in DevOps to design, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure.
• Own and evolve incident management processes, including on-call, postmortems, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Manage and optimize web servers, relational databases, and Linux-based systems.
• Utilize expertise in Docker for containerization and manage orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or AWS ECS to ensure smooth deployment and scalability.
• Work with AWS services to build and maintain scalable and secure cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate closely with other Engineering teams, QA and Security teams to streamline workflows, troubleshoot issues, and enhance system deployment processes.
• Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure and deployments, including access management, vulnerability scanning, and incident response.
• Contribute to ensuring compliance with security standards and help foster a strong DevSecOps culture within the engineering team.
• Work remotely from anywhere in Switzerland or join us on-site in our St. Gallen office, with the flexibility to choose your best work environment.

What you bring

• You have 5+ years of experience in a DevOps / Platform or Systems Engineer role – ideally in the SaaS space.
• You’re comfortable with web servers (Nginx), relational databases (e.g., MySQL, including replication and performance tuning), and Linux (Amazon Linux/CentOS/RedHat).
• You have knowledge and experience with Docker containerization, including container orchestration and management (e.g., Kubernetes or AWS ECS).
• You have worked with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Cloudfront or OpenSearch).
• You’ve worked with Terraform in the past and can create infrastructure as code for scalable environments.
• You have knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and have implemented automated build and deployment processes.
• You have knowledge of Puppet configuration management (Bonus).
• You’ve worked cross-functionally with Developer Support and Deployment Support roles.
• You’re an IT generalist who’s comfortable shaping and defining the role with us.
• You have a strong understanding of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog or Grafana).
• You have experience applying SRE principles such as SLOs, and error budgets.
• You have worked with incident management processes, including conducting postmortems and driving improvements.
• You have a solid understanding of security practices in cloud and DevOps environments, including identity and access management (IAM), data protection, secrets management, and compliance considerations (e.g., ISO, GDPR).
• You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced, distributed team environment.
• You speak English fluently.
