Job summary

myenergi is seeking a backend-focused Software Engineer to develop and operate cloud-based services used by millions. You will design, implement, monitor and support services as part of the Software Engineering function aligned with our long-term strategy.

Ideal candidates have expert TS backend experience, AWS IaC familiarity, and strong debugging plus collaboration skills across distributed teams. Grimsby-based, hybrid/onsite environment with scale on smart home tech.

Qualifications

• Expert experience with TypeScript in backend development.
• Cloud infrastructure experience, preferably AWS with IaC.
• Git, CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI).
• Automated testing with Jest or Vitest.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Strong debugging skills, networking tools like Wireshark.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a distributed multinational team.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable backend code in TS; some Terraform as needed.
• Architect, implement, test and support cloud-based software on AWS.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Troubleshoot and debug defects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, support and production.
• Promote testing practices across the software stack.
