Job summary

A leading company in the UK is looking for a seasoned cloud migration expert to lead end-to-end migrations from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform. The role involves working in a hybrid environment, producing detailed architectural designs, managing migration processes, and ensuring alignment with business goals. Ideal candidates will possess Google Cloud certifications with proven experience in both Azure and GCP, and a deep understanding of cloud cost modeling.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading cloud migrations.
• Ability to produce High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
• Experience managing organisational impacts of cloud migration.

Responsibilities

• Lead migrations from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform.

Job description

Duration: 6 Months

Based: Hybrid/London - can be remote for the right candidate!

Required Experience:

• Proven experience leading end-to-end migrations from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with deep expertise in GCP.
• Certified across Google Cloud technologies, ideally in a subject matter expert (SME) or leadership capacity, capable of guiding assessments with Google and partner stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Azure and its service architecture, with the ability to map and refactor Azure workloads effectively for GCP.
• Skilled in producing comprehensive High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) to support each stage of the migration lifecycle, ensuring architectural clarity and alignment with business objectives.
• Experience managing organisational impacts of cloud migration, including retraining, restructuring, and process change.
• Expert in GCP cost modelling and assessment, able to estimate migration costs and advise on potential savings and trade-offs.
• Able to develop and deliver migration documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, strategic plans, and recommendations during the initial 12-week preparation phase, including pilot initiatives if required.
