JPMorgan Chase in Bournemouth seeks a Software Engineer III – Public Cloud to join our agile Public Cloud team. You will design and deliver secure, scalable cloud-native solutions across multiple business functions using AWS and modern languages to support firm objectives.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Proficient in coding in one or more modern programming languages.
Hands-on AWS development experience — building, deploying, and operating production workloads.
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages.
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Practical experience using AI-assisted developer tools and AI agents to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and knowledge acquisition.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with demonstrated ability to evaluate, validate, and refine outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.

Responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches.
Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with systems.
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex cloud-native applications.
Designs, builds, and operates resilient, scalable services deployed to AWS.
Identifies hidden problems and uses insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and architecture.
Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and cloud technology events.
Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity with peer review and secure coding standards.
Applies SDLC tools, including enterprise AI-assisted development, to improve automation value.
