Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer III in Bournemouth within Corporate Investment Bank Markets Technology. You will be a core technical contributor designing, building, and delivering cloud-based applications that align with business goals and security standards.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers, optimize performance and security, and stay current with cloud and AI/ML trends while leading communities of practice to promote modern tech adoption across the team.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience.
Experience in cloud development, with a focus on application design and development.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
Strong experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience building RESTful APIs and working with event-driven or serverless architectures.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks and DevOps practices.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
Proficiency in data warehousing solutions like Snowflake and Iceberg and relational databases such as RDS or Oracle.
Experience in Infrastructure as code (IAC) such as Terraform or equivalent.
Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement cloud-based applications and services.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure design solutions are aligned with business goals.
Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security.
Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to enhance operational stability.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Stay up to date with emerging Cloud and AI/ML technologies and industry trends.
Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies.
Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and productivity, validating outputs through peer review and automated testing.
