Job summary

UBDS Group is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to support secure, modern digital products across Government and Defence. You will design, build, test and deploy cloud-based apps in AWS, using Python, JavaScript and SQL/PostgreSQL.

You’ll develop APIs, integrate services, manage data flows and write secure, maintainable code. You will work in an agile team and mentor peers while engaging stakeholders throughout delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong software development experience in modern digital environments.
• Proficient in Python and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing apps/services in AWS.
• Experience designing, developing and integrating APIs.
• Good understanding of software engineering, testing and secure development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Build cloud-based applications and services in AWS.
• Develop solutions using Python, JavaScript and SQL/PostgreSQL.
• Design, build and integrate APIs and services.
• Work with databases and data flows across systems.
• Write clean, secure, testable code and contribute to testing.
• Use GitHub, Docker and modern DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with Architects, Product, Design and Testing teams.
• Translate user/business needs into technical solutions.
• Engage with stakeholders, communicate progress and decisions.
• Contribute to technical design and continuous improvement.
• Support and mentor other developers; support deployment and live operations.
