Job summary

Evri is seeking a Senior Technical Architect for an 18‑month fixed term contract, primarily remote with occasional travel to Leeds. You will translate high‑level designs into robust low‑level designs, guiding engineering squads while shaping Evri’s technology landscape across platforms and services.

You’ll collaborate across product, engineering, UX and enterprise architecture, drive standards, mentor teams, manage technical debt and ensure scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient solutions for

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• 8+ years building commercial applications and 3+ years hands‑on with AWS (serverless ideally).
• Strong background with Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, messaging architectures (RabbitMQ/SQS), and modern API design.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation skills, and the ability to mentor others.
• Experience with databases (Oracle, SAP, RDS, NoSQL), DevOps principles, and the ability to read and interpret modern code.

Responsibilities

• Translate high‑level designs into robust Low-Level Designs guiding engineering squads.
• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, UX and Enterprise Architecture to influence direction.
• Publish and maintain API contracts and support the Developer Portal.
• Lead documentation, proof‑of‑concept efforts, and mentor architects and leads.
• Assess risks, manage technical debt, and ensure scalable, secure, cost‑efficient applications.
