Job summary

Evri seeks a Senior Technical Architect to translate high-level designs into robust low-level designs enabling engineering teams to deliver across products and platforms for customers in the UK.

You will influence architectural direction across Product, Engineering and Enterprise Architecture, champion best practices, manage technical debt, and mentor others, with strong AWS and Java/Spring experience.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in technical architecture and designing complex, scalable systems.
• Hands-on AWS experience (serverless desirable).
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot and modern distributed architectures.
• Experience with API design, DevOps practices and modern engineering approaches.
• Strong understanding of databases (Oracle, RDS, NoSQL).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Collaborative mindset with mentoring and influencing others.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain Low-Level Designs aligned to solution architecture and evolving business needs.
• Champion architectural standards, governance and best practice across teams.
• Identify and manage technical debt, driving refactoring and continuous improvement.
• Define and maintain API contracts and support developer enablement.
• Collaborate across Product, Engineering and Architecture to translate designs into delivery.
• Lead documentation, standardisation and proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Support incident resolution and improve system resilience.
• Mentor engineers and architects, and provide guidance to third parties and stakeholders.
• Assess risks, evaluate options and ensure solutions are scalable, secure and cost-efficient.
