Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect for the Global Financial Services team to design scalable, secure cloud architectures for large banking and insurance customers across EMEA and APJ. You will partner with sales and cross-functional teams to enable cloud adoption and AI initiatives.

You will mentor others, lead architectural discussions, create reusable reference architectures, and contribute to AWS thought leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, security, networking or data & analytics.
• Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
• 10+ years of experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to architect, build, and migrate applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Work with sales teams to develop and execute strategies that drive AWS adoption and exceed revenue objectives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior technical leaders at Financial Services customers, influencing their long-term technology strategy.
• Lead architectural discussions and design reviews, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, cost-optimized, and operationally excellent.
• Develop and contribute reusable reference architectures, patterns, and best-practice content for the SA community.
• Mentor and develop fellow Solutions Architects, actively contributing to team capability growth.
• Act as a Financial Services thought leader through public speaking, written content, and industry engagement on cloud and AI adoption.
• Conduct training sessions (one-to-few and one-to-many) to transfer knowledge to customers evaluating or already using AWS.
• Provide structured feedback to AWS service and product teams based on customer needs and gaps identified in the field.
• Contribute to organizational strategic planning, recruiting, and the development of team-wide initiatives.
